GolfStatus + Invited Clubs
2024 Charity Classic

Invited Clubs is continuing the tradition of making an impact in the communities that its clubs call home by generating millions of dollars for charities and nonprofits through Charity Classic events.

Invited’s Charity Classic has raised over $30 million since 2007 to benefit important causes like the Employee Partners Care Foundation’s support of Employee Partners in times of crisis and other national and local organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club, Wounded Warrior Project, The First Tee, and many more.

Charity Classic Goals

  • Support organizations that make an impact in your community

  • Host an outstanding event that excites members and raises money for important causes

GolfStatus

GolfStatus is a software platform built just for golf events, and the preferred event management platform for Charity Classic events. Working with GolfStatus streamlines tournament planning and execution, saving you time and effort. Through the Golf for Good program, qualifying nonprofits and entities planning golf events that benefit them can qualify to use GolfStatus at no cost (including Charity Classic events).

GolfStatus Onboarding Process

1. Submit Event Information

Complete the Invited Clubs Charity Classic Event Detail Form at least two to three months before your event. Event information is reviewed and approved by Tonye Murray of Invited Clubs, who may reach out for additional information.

Trends from 2020-2022 Charity Classic Events

Events that have their forms approved at least 75 days prior to the event date raise over $28,500, compared to just over $9,500 for those with less than 75 days (on average).

2. GolfStatus Builds the Event Site

Once the event detail form has been submitted and approved (see below for more information about why forms may not be approved), GolfStatus will build the event site and reach out to the primary tournament organizer(s) to schedule an educational session.

3. GolfStatus Education Session

Tournament organizers must complete an education session with Cash at GolfStatus before the event site can go live and begin to accept registrations, collect donations, and sell sponsorships. During the 30-45 minute session, Cash will walk organizers through the specifics of the registration process, discount codes, refunds, and more, and answer any questions.

4. Event Site Goes Live

Upon completion of the education session, the event site will go live. Start sharing the event site link and promoting the event so that teams, individuals, sponsors, and donors can register and donate right away.

5. Post-Event

Within a week of the event, organizers should schedule a post-event follow up call with Cash. This ensures the event is able to be closed out, so all registrations and donations need to be processed. Golfstatus will generate a final registration report and send it to Rosa and the Invited Clubs facility.

6. Questions & Support

Questions related to GolfStatus should be directed to Cash Dinkel ([email protected]) or Frank Cuddy ([email protected]). Questions regarding Invited Clubs or the Charity Classic will be directed to your regional membership experience leader.

If you receive notification that your Event Detail Form was not approved:

Please note: The event form needs to be completed in its entirety to expedite its approval.

Common reasons forms are not approved:

  • Missing Event Summary

  • Missing Local Charity Contact / Tax ID

  • Not enough sponsorship packages listed

  • No perks / benefits for sponsors

  • Incorrect fair market value / same as the event package price

    • Fair Market Value: Fair market value is just that—the value at which one could reasonably expect to sell property on the open market. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) uses the fair market value to determine the dollar value of charitable donations, assets that are converted to business use, and in various other tax-related matters.

    • Example: Cost for 18 holes and a cart = $80

      • Foursome fair market value: $320

      • Individual fair market value: $80

      • Foursome registration price: $500 (charitable donation: $180)

      • Individual registration cost: $125 (charitable donation: $45)
