Play It Forward With GolfStatus

Play It Forward is an initiative by GolfStatus and its giving partners, Dormie Network and Dormie Network Foundation, to give back to organizations using golf to do good in the world.

Each year, Play It Forward awards a $10,000 donation to a golf fundraiser, chosen by a selection committee from eligible nominations. Since 2021, Play It Forward has contributed $60,000 to nonprofits using golf to power their missions and impact their communities.

How It Works

The Prize 

  • $10,000 donation to a golf fundraiser 

  • Dormie Network Stay and Play Package ($5,400 value)

    The nominator of the winning event receives the Stay and Play package, good for a two-day, one-night stay at an eligible Dormie Network private destination golf club. If the winner is self-nominated, the package must be used as an auction item or incentive for a major sponsor or donor. 

The Process

  1. Golfers, supporters, staff, volunteers, and others nominate a nonprofit or cause raising money through golf between August 1 and September 30.
    Nominations should tell us about the cause, the golf fundraiser, why they should receive a $10,000 donation, and how the funds will be used. This information is used by the committee to determine the winner, so be thorough and thoughtful in your response.

  2. Nominated event organizers must see a GolfStatus demo by November 16 or be a current client to complete their nomination.

  3. The selection committee reviews eligible events and meets to determine the winner.

  4. The winning golf fundraiser is contacted via email, then announced via press release and social media.

September 30 - November 16: Event organizers complete their nominations, and the selection committee reviews eligible nominees.

December 1 (Giving Tuesday): Winner announced via press release and on social media.
