PGA Professional Ross Eickhoff is GolfStatus’s golf course business development manager. In his words: “It’s my job to make sure that our partner golf courses have everything they need to succeed." A lifelong golfer and movie buff, Ross blends impeccable comedic timing with his experience working at golf facilities and passion for the sport to serve partner courses nationwide.

What role has golf played in your life?

I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, and my first meaningful interaction with the game was hitting balls into the field out back with Dad’s old clubs. After that, I played anytime I could. When I went off to college at the University of Nebraska, I knew I was on the right path when I joined the PGA Golf Management program. After graduating, I worked my way up at several clubs from assistant professional to head golf professional, then assistant general manager.

How does your experience in the golf industry inform your current role at GolfStatus?

A lot of my career within golf operations involved serving course membership, which translates directly into what we do here at GolfStatus. Whether it’s golfers or PGA professionals and golf courses, I make every effort to provide the attention and respect our partners and end users deserve. I believe that everything you do in life is about effort, and whether I’m assisting with day-to-day operations or specific hurdles, I do everything in my power to solve problems and make things easier on golf professional staff.

What’s the biggest challenge golf courses face today?

The battle for golfers’ time. People are not making as much time to play golf. Solving this problem is what GolfStatus is all about. Events are golf at their absolute best, so the ability to provide golf facilities with the tools they need to organize a professional-caliber event quickly and easily (whether it’s an annual member-guest or a smaller corporate outing) impacts the golf experience and the facility’s bottom line. It all leads to more memorable experiences, more visits to golf facilities, and more time on the course.
