We are excited to announce the release of version 4.0 of the GolfStatus Android app.  Like the iOS app we released late this summer, this is a ground-up rewrite that will allow us to more rapidly release new features and improvements in our development pipeline. With our iOS and Android apps now in parity, we can’t wait to show you what we have up our sleeves.  However, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. First, here are a few highlights on the new Android release displayed on the new Google Pixel:

Free Hole-by-Hole GPS

FREE hole-by-hole GPS, providing you with accurate yardages to the front, back, and center of every green (note: this feature will not appear unless you are close to the course):

Improved Reward Presentation and Delivery

GolfStatus loves enhancing the golf experience with rewards, sweepstakes and pin prizes. We’ve made this process more seamless in version 4.0.

Color-Coded Round Details

Your full scorecard view, personal bests, and round history have new color-coded scoring.

Card-Style Notifications

In an effort to make things feel more Android-like, we’ve adopted slick new card-style notifications.

Simplification

In addition to taking out a few things, we simplified the avatar upload in settings, cleaned up our social sharing integrations, added hole distances to the scorecard. And, for those of you with GHIN numbers, we’ve simplified GHIN posting by automatically triggering the request to appear after the round, rather than through notifications.
